Welcome to The Medley Walled Garden
A Rural Oasis in the Heart of Oxford
The Medley Walled Garden is a picturesque and secluded corner of a small, family-run farm in Binsey, Oxford. Close to the River Thames and a short walk from Binsey Village, our much-loved agricultural smallholding has been a calming refuge for the Gee family since 1958. But it’s also a thriving environment for the local community — hosting fruit-picking activities that attract visitors from far and wide.
A Family Affair
The Medley Walled Garden is the latest addition to the Gee family’s beautiful farm. Reclaimed and renovated following years of neglect, this eye-catching location offers an idyllic setting for weddings, corporate events and family celebrations. Decades of overgrowth were recently removed to reveal the true beauty of this nearly 400-year-old walled garden. But that was only the beginning. A professional gardener — along with members of the Gee family — invested time, energy and resources into what would become a labour of love for everyone involved. And the results speak for themselves.
In just a few months, an unused, overgrown morass of foliage and wild vegetation has become a jaw-dropping location for some of life’s most momentous occasions. Boasting countless backdrops for photo opportunities, The Medley Walled Garden is a location that befits the significance of the events it hosts.
Now a fully managed space for weddings in London, Oxford and South East England, this serene location could be the venue for your next big event.
Learning from the Past, Planning for the Future
Medley Manor Farm is now one of only three working farms left in the city of Oxford. But by adapting to an ever-changing world, the future of this beloved farm is bright. Charlie Gee and his wife Barbara began diversifying the business’s activities in 1980 with the introduction of a pick-your-own strawberries operation. And their son Charlie took the baton a few years ago and expanded the farm’s selection of fruits and vegetables.
Medley Manor Farm is a testament to sustainability and local produce. The farm cafe now sells a range of snacks, light lunches and teas during the summer months — using fruits and vegetables grown onsite. And due to popular demand, the farm now boasts its own unique events venue.
